Sluggish bowels

There can be lots of reasons for sluggish bowels. A key reason can be a lack of dietary fibre. It is important to remember there are two types of fibre. Soluble and insoluble fibre. Soluble fibre is found in fruit, vegetables and oats. It absorbs water and is a softer fibre. Insoluble is the roughage type found in grains, cereals pips and seeds. This type of fibre helps to add bulk to the stool which can help to keep movements regular. It is also important to ingest enough fluid. The recipes below combine at least 5g per serve of both soluble and insoluble fibres.
