High protein matcha blueberry smoothie

NOURISHING SNACK - SERVES 4

Canutrition tip: There are loads of studies indicating that berries and their extracts might help fight the oxidative stress and inflammation in our bodies that can lead to certain types of cancer. Apart from being rich in vitamins, minerals and fibre, they are rich in a key phytonutrient called anthocyanin. Blueberries have over five times more anthocyanin than raspberries or strawberries. Frozen berries are cheaper and studies show that freezing has virtually no impact on their antioxidant powers.

Ingredients

1 cup low-fat milk or high calcium alternate
1/2 banana
3/4 cup of fresh or frozen blueberries
1 TBSP skim milk powder or Whey protein powder
2 tsp Matcha powder (green tea powder very high in antioxidants)
1/2 cup of ice if you are using fresh blueberries
